Three easy ways to connect two computer for file sharing and Internet

Trouble:
Dear readers are not you able to connect your laptop and a desktop computer for file sharing. I will discuss three easy ways through which you can connect your laptop and your desktop together for file sharing and Internet, or simply how can you connect two computers with each other with three simple and fast methods.

Solution:
Let’s discuss all the three methods one by one.

First Method: Using a Switch

1. Plug in LAN cables into both computer’s
2. Open Start >> Control panel and double click Network Connections.
3. Now, double click on Network Connection.
4. Click the Properties button and type the IP address “192.168.0.1” to one computer and “192.168.0.2” to the other computer following the same procedure as specified above, both with the same subnet as “255.255.255.0“, leave rest of the fields blank, and click OK.

5. Now you need to rename the network names by right clicking on “My computer >> Properties
Click Computer Name tab.
6. Rename workgroup as “home” in both computers.
7. That’s it done, both of the computers will be connected thereafter.

Second Method: Using a LAN crossover cable

What is a Crossover cable?
Its a type of Networking / LAN cable to connect two computers mainly for file sharing available at all computer shops.

--->>Amazing google search tricks<<---

I would like to share some amazing google search tricks shared by Simon Mackie of GigaOm on New York Times portal recently..

Simon in his blog says, that he is always amazed that many people don’t know the little tricks one can use to get more out of a simple Google search. Here are 10 of his favorites.
1. Use the “site:” operator to limit searches to a particular site. I use this one all the time, and it’s particularly handy because many site’s built-in search tools don’t return the results you’re looking for (and some sites don’t even have a search feature). If I’m looking for WWD posts about GTD, for example, I could try this search: GTD site:webworkerdaily.com.

2. Use Google as a spelling aid. As Rob Hacker — the WWD reader I profiled last week — pointed out, entering a word into Google is a quick way to see if you have the right spelling. If it’s incorrect, Google will suggest the correct spelling instead. Additionally, if you want to get a definition of a word, you can use the “define:” operator to return definitions from various dictionaries (for example, define: parasympathetic).

3. Use Google as a calculator. Google has a built-in calculator — try entering a calculation like 110 * (654/8 + 3). Yes, your computer also has a calculator, but if you spend most of your day inside a browser, typing your calculation into the browser’s search box is quicker than firing up your calculator app.

4. Find out what time it is anywhere in the world. This one’s really handy if you want to make sure that you’re not phoning someone in the middle of the night. Just search for “time” and then the name of the city. For example, try: time San Francisco

5. Get quick currency conversions. Google can also do currency conversion, for example: 100 pounds in dollars. It only has the more mainstream currencies, though — if you’re trying to see how many Peruvian nuevos soles your dollars might buy, you’ll be out of luck.

6. Use the OR operator. This can be useful if you’re looking at researching a topic but you’re not sure which keywords will return the information you need. It can be particularly handy in conjunction with the “site:” operator. For example, you could try this search: GTD or “getting things done” site:webworkerdaily.com

7. Exclude specific terms with the – operator. You can narrow your searches using this operator. For example, if you’re looking for information about American Idol but don’t want anything about Simon Cowell, you could try: “american idol” -cowell

8. Search for specific document types. Google can search the web for specific types of files using the “filetype:” operator. If you’re looking for PowerPoint files about GTD, for example, you could try: GTD filetype:ppt

9. Search within numerical ranges using the .. operator. Say, for example, you want to look for information about Olympic events that took place in the 1950’s, you could use this search: Olympics 1950..1960

10. Area code lookup. Need to know where a phone number is located? Google will let you know where it is, and show you a map of the area, too. For example: 415

You can add to this list by commenting on this page..

Remembering The Good Old 90’s (Jaane Kahaan Gaye Woh Din)

Remembering The Good Old 90’s (Jaane Kahaan Gaye Woh Din)

When I recently visited my blog it seemed like a tech blog to me rather than a blog for all genres. So,
I decided no more posts on technology instead lets visit ‘The Good Old 90’s.’ One thing I always
wondered after growing up and getting all involved in gizmos and technology is how did
I manage without all these things(PC,Mobile,Playstation,IPod etc) when I was young?
So,lets just revisit the golden era once again and see….
How did one survive growing up in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s?
We had no seatbelts, no airbags and sitting in the back of a truck was a treat…
Our baby prams had the most gorgeous lead based colours…
No such thing as tamper proof bottle tops…
Opening kitchen cupboards was a breeze… as safety locks were unheard off…
Cycling was like a breath of fresh air…
No safety helmets, knee pads or elbow pads, with plenty of cardboard’s between spokes to make
it sound like a motorbike…
When thirsty we only drank tap water, bottled water was still a mystery…
We kept busy collecting bits & pieces so we could build all sort of things … and we
were fearless on our bikes even when the brakes failed going downhill…
We were showing off how tough we are, by how high we could climb trees & then jumping down…
.It was great fun….
We could stay out to play for hours, as long as we got back before dark, in time for dinner…
We walked to school, or sometimes we even rode our bike.
We had no mobile phones, but we always managed to find each other…!!
How??  No one knows…
We lost teeth, broke arms & legs, we got cuts and bruises and bloody noses…. nobody complained
as we had so much fun, it wasn’t anybody’s fault, only ours
We ate everything in sight, cakes, bread, chocolate, ice-cream, sweet sugary drinks, yet, we
stayed skinny by fooling around.
And if one of us was lucky to find a 1 litre coca cola bottle we all had a swag from it & guess what?
 Nobody picked up any germs…
We did not have Play Stations, MP3, Nintendo’s, I-Pods, Video games, 99 Cable TV channels, DVD’s,
Home Cinema, Mobile phones, Home Computers, Laptops, Chat-rooms, Internet, etc … BUT,
we had REAL FRIENDS!!!!
We called on friends to come out to play, never rang the doorbell, just went around the back…
We loved being let loose in the big bad world…without bodyguards…
We played with sticks and stones, played cowboys and Indians, doctors and nurses, hide and
seek, soccer games, over and over again…
When we failed our exams we were given a second chance by simply repeating the same grade…
without visiting psychiatrists, psychologists or counsellors…
Such were the days…
We had freedom, success, disappointments and responsibilities. ..
Most of all, we learned to respect others…
